Places to Swim, Splash and Cool Off in San Ramon/Danville

Need to cool off on a hot day in San Ramon/Danville? Here's where to go!

Kids want to cool off, but not sure where to go in San Ramon/Danville? Here is a list of splash pads and pools in the San Ramon/Danville area to take kids on these hot summer days.

We advise always checking with the venue when possible before heading out as hours and availability can change due to any number of factors, ranging from weather to staffing issues.

Sycamore Valley Park

2101 Holbrook Dr Danville, CA 94506

What to expect: From April 1st through September 30th, the water play features will be turned on, barring any restrictions on water usage or periods of inclement weather, the water features will operate until they close for the winter on October 1st

Dates and hours: 

Weekdays: 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Weekends: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Admission price:  Free





Hap Magee Ranch Park

1025 La Gonda Way Danville, CA 94526

What to expect: Hap Magee’s water feature is a combination of metal tubes that form a tunnel with water spraying inside as kids run through, and water spraying up from the ground. A motion sensor activates the water feature on a random circuit.

Dates and hours:  April 1 - September 30

Weekdays: 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Weekends: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Rancho San Ramon Community Park

2000 Rancho Park Loop Rd San Ramon, CA 94582

What to expect:  The splash area also features plenty of seating areas (some under a canopy) surrounding the pad, so you can easily watch your kids.  There are restrooms nearby that make it easy with the little ones in diapers and/or potty training.

Dates and hours:  open daily in the summer from 11 am – 5 pm until October.

SAN RAMON OLYMPIC POOL & AQUATIC PARK

9900 Broadmoor Dr San Ramon, CA 94583

What to expect:  No snack shack, but the vending machines take all types of payment and have a decent variety.  The pools are warm and well maintained. There's swimming lanes in the larger Olympic size pool.  2 pools & one kids play structure.
Some tables & shade. You can bring chairs & your own food in.  Bathrooms have showers & lockers.

Dates and hours:  Closed until June 10th. The diving boards and obstacle course are open 1230-330

DOUGHERTY VALLEY AQUATIC CENTER

10550 Albion Road San Ramon, CA 94582

What to expect: The main pool facility had more than enough lanes for people there on the weekend with two lifeguard towers, two diving boards, and an area for inflatable tubes. The water temperature was wonderful.  There is a kids' pool with the play area.  Has lots of lockers, but bring your own lock.  Showers have liquid foam soap, but best to bring your own shampoo and soap.
